Ready to Assemble

In the early 20th century, optimistic zeal for scientific inventiveness combined with collective faith in the idea of ‘progress’ abounded. These enthusiasms gradually waned, as, post WW2, the millennium moved forward in more sceptical ways. This series situates details of implausible awe next to those of quotidian matter-of-factness in a cosmos where details from IKEA’s globalised flat-pack assembly instructions interconnect implausible ecological scenarios.
