War Ears

Swell Sculpture Festival, Currumbin, 2011

The sculptural forms of this installation were based on WW2 listening devices used prior to the invention of radar. The installation was situated in the sad of the spit where Currumbin Creek meets the sea. The interactive forms encouraged audience members to listen to the sounds of the earth’s pulse, and to consider the ways in which our own lives are intertwined with the heartbeat of the planet.
